Several hundred people gathered at the Kakaako fire station last night to enjoy the third annual Signature Chefs Food Festival, a fundraiser for the Honolulu Firefighters Foundation. This was the biggest event yet, with 16 food stations showcasing?creations by the Honolulu Fire Department firefighters and some of the best Honolulu chefs from Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, Tang? Contemporary Cafe, Chai?s Island Bistro, 12th Ave Grill, SALT, Roy?s, beachhouse at the moana, The Royal Hawaiian, Side Street Inn, Mariposa, JJ Bistro & French Pastry, Liliha Bakery, Sprinks!, Poke Stop, Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Aloha Learning Center, and Job Corps Hawaii. Paradise Beverages and Southern Wine & Spirits provided wine, beer, soft drinks and water, as well.
Mari Taketa and I sacrificed our Friday night to cover this event, which involved lots of food tasting, sampling Saint Vincent wine, and most importantly, finding a few attractive firefighters to photograph. We had such a rough time last night, really.
