COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. - A woman and her pets escaped a fire that destroyed most of her home early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters could see flames in the back of the home and heavy smoke when they arrived at the home on Cherry Court around 1 a.m.
Crews got the blaze under control in about 20 minutes, but most of the home and its contents were lost in the fire.
South Lane County Fire and Rescue send five fire trucks and 11 firefighters to fight the blaze.
The department provides fire and emergency medical protection to the communities of Cottage Grove, Creswell and 132 square miles of unincorporated Southern Lane County.
