When I had this chocolate cake for the first time,? I thought it was the best chocolate cake I had ever had.? Maybe it?s because I was very pregnant with my daughter,? but I still think this recipe is to die for.? It?s moist and chocolatie.? Nothing from a package can compare.? So I was given permission to share it with you here.
Ingredients:
3c flour
2c sugar
1/2c unsweetened cocoa powder
2t baking soda
1t salt
2t vinegar
2t vanilla
3/4c vegetable oil
2c cold water
First mix the dry ingredients,? then add the liquids.??Mix until thoroughly combined.? Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.? Makes two 8? layers or one 13 x 9? layer.
Buttercream Frosting:
2 sticks butter (8 oz.) at room temperature
1 lb. confectioners sugar
1t vanilla
2-4T milk
Cream the butter.? Add half the sugar,? vanilla and 2T milk.? Add the remaining sugar and another T milk as needed so the frosting is not too stiff to spread.
You?ll never go back to boxed cake mixes and canned frosting again!
